Soft Punk
SOFT PUNK MAGAZINE
BRAND IDENTITY, ART DIRECTION, EDITORIAL DESIGN, ILLUSTRATION
Soft Punk was a literary arts and culture magazine based in London which printed 6 issues from 2019 to 2021. I served as Art Director for the first four of those issues. We were house-style-agnostic and liberated from conceptions of brow. Our reporting was fair, our fiction vulnerable, and our criticism unwavering. We curated emotive, insightful, and occasionally brazen visual features, with generous space reserved for poetry and art of all mediums.
MERCH
For our merchandise drops, I wanted to pay homage to the magazine’s constant desire to blend “high” and “low” culture. Here, a handmade tote bag gets the iconic happy-face, have-a-nice-day, bodega plastic bag treatment. On wearable garments by Philly-based Paratodo Co., I reworked our balloon and safety pin motifs.
